Holy Child College, Abuja celebrated Cultural Day with a colourful display of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage. Students came dressed in beautiful traditional attire, showcasing the diversity of our nation through dance, drama, food, and cultural exhibitions. The celebration provided an opportunity for students to appreciate Nigeria’s diverse cultures, traditions, and values while promoting unity in diversity, respect, and national pride.
We proudly celebrated Ivie Urieto, “The Chess Princess,” at the launch of her inspiring book, Ivie Urieto: The Chess Princess. The book chronicles Ivie’s remarkable journey in chess and her growth as a young champion and advocate for the game. Her achievement reflects her dedication, discipline, talent and determination to inspire other young people. We are proud to celebrate Ivie and this remarkable milestone. May her story continue to inspire children to discover their talents, pursue excellence and believe in their dreams.
Holy Child College was honoured to welcome members of the Society Leadership Team (SLT) for an official visit to our campus. The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement with students, staff, and administrators, strengthening the shared mission and vision of Catholic education. During their time on campus, the SLT interacted with students in various classrooms, observed academic and co-curricular activities, and held strategic discussions with school leadership. Their presence inspired both staff and students, reaffirming our commitment to excellence, discipline, faith formation, and holistic development. The visit concluded with a reflective session that encouraged continued growth, collaboration, and dedication to the core values of Holy Child education. It was truly a memorable and uplifting experience for the entire school community.
Holy Child College recently hosted the Sit-Down & Read Workshop, a focused literacy programme designed to cultivate strong reading habits and deepen students’ critical thinking skills. The session provided a structured and supportive environment where students engaged actively with selected texts. Through guided reading, group discussions, and reflective exercises, participants explored themes, analysed key ideas, and shared thoughtful insights. The workshop encouraged independent thinking, improved comprehension, and strengthened students’ confidence in expressing their views. The initiative reflects Holy Child College’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. By nurturing a culture of reading, the school continues to empower students with the skills needed for lifelong learning and intellectual growth.
